Eid Al Adha 2026 bonus: UAE drivers get up to five days free parking
Multi-storey parking and smart zones excluded from free arrangements
DUBAI – Public holidays in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) often bring added convenience for residents and motorists, and Eid Al Adha 2026 is no exception.
The four-day break is set to begin on Tuesday, May 26, with authorities across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah announcing free public parking arrangements.
Each emirate has issued its own schedule, with varying start and end dates as well as specific exemptions for paid zones and multi-storey facilities.
Dubai
In Dubai, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has confirmed that public parking will be free from May 25 to May 29. However, this exemption does not apply to multi-storey parking buildings, which will continue to operate on standard tariff rates throughout the holiday period.
Motorists are advised to observe signage in designated zones to avoid penalties, especially in high-demand commercial areas.
Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre, known as Q Mobility, has announced free public parking from May 25 to May 29 as well.
Regular charges will resume on Saturday, May 30. Multi-storey parking facilities remain chargeable 24/7, even during the Eid break.
In addition, Darb toll gates will be free during the holiday period, except for Al Qurm and Ghantout, which continue to operate as usual.
Sharjah
Sharjah City Municipality has confirmed free public parking from Wednesday, May 27 until Friday, May 29, covering the first three days of Eid Al Adha 2026.
Certain areas remain excluded, including zones marked with blue information signage, locations where fees apply throughout the week and holiday periods, and smart parking spaces near key tourist destinations. These exemptions are part of Sharjah’s standard parking framework during public holidays, ensuring regulated flow in busy districts.
